The Qur’anic Arabic Language : Its Purity, Beauty & Excellence

The Qur’anic Arabic language is a Rabbaniyyah or divine language. It is a divine language because it was composed by the All Mighty All Wise Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) Himself. The Qur’an Arabic has been regarded as among the greatest miracles that the final Prophet and Messenger of Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) Muhammad Ibn Abdullah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) brought.  Its purity and beauty is unmatched by any other book or composition known to mankind or jinnkind. It is the Book of Excellence with not a single mistake from the very first page until the end. Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) sent all the Prophets (a.s.) to their people, and to the whole world of mankind and Jinnkind, He subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) sent the final Prophet and Messenger, Muhammad Ibn Abdullah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him)

Upon sending all Prophets and Messenger, Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) equipped them with books and miracles from Him so that people may easily believe their messages, and to the Prophet and final Messenger, Muhammad Ibn Abdullah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) equipped him with greatest of all miracles the Noble Qur’an.

To the people of Prophet Ibraaheem, Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) said to the fire be cool and peaceful to Ibraaheem, and so was the fire. Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) said in the Qur’an;

They said: “Burn him and help your âlihah (gods), if you will be doing.” (68) We (Allâh) said: “O fire! Be you coolness and safety for Ibrâheem (Abraham)!” Al-Qur’an 21: 68-69

At the time of Prophet Muusaa and Haaruun (a.s.), the Magicians were the source and masters of deceptive powers among men. Therefore, unto Fir’aun, Qaaruun, the Magicians, and their people, Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) strengthened and sent  His Prophets Muusaa and Haaruun (a.s.) with His signs so that people may believe in the Messages they were sent. Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) said;

        قُلۡنَا لَا تَخَفۡ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ (٦٨) وَأَلۡقِ مَا فِى يَمِينِكَ تَلۡقَفۡ مَا صَنَعُوٓاْ‌ۖ إِنَّمَا صَنَعُواْ كَيۡدُ سَـٰحِرٍ۬‌ۖ وَلَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلسَّاحِرُ حَيۡثُ أَتَىٰ (٦٩) فَأُلۡقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سُجَّدً۬ا قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ هَـٰرُونَ وَمُوسَىٰ (٧٠)

“And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a magician’s trick, and the magician will never be successful, to whatever amount (of skill) he may attain.” (69) So the magicians fell down prostrate. They said: “We believe in the Lord of Hârûn (Aaron) and Mûsa (Moses).” Al-Qur’an 20:69-70

To Prophet and Messenger ‘Eesaa (a.s.) and His Mother Maryaam (r.a.), Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) gave and strengthened with several miracles. His mother conceived him without a father, and as soon as he was born (a.s.), Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) made him spoke to the people. With Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) permission, he made blind people see, and raised the dead from their graves. Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) said;

   “(Remember) when Allâh will say (on the Day of Resurrection). “O ‘Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Remember My Favour to you and to your

mother when I supported you with Rûh-ul-Qudus [Jibrail (Gabriel)] so that you spoke to the people in the cradle[] and in maturity; and when I taught you writing, Al¬Hikmah (the power of understanding), the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel); and when you made out of the clay, a figure like that of a bird, by My Permission, and you breathed into it, and it became a bird by My Permission, and you healed those born blind, and the lepers by My Permission, and when you brought forth the dead by My Permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from you (when they resolved to kill you) as you came unto them with clear proofs, and the disbelievers among them said: ‘This is nothing but evident magic.’ ” Al-Qur’an 5:110.

The Arabs of old were known for their beautiful poems, poetry, and eloquence in speech. They traded poems and poetry in their markets, and poets held annual competitions. When their poets heard of the Qur’anic recitations and its wordings, they were extremely amazed at its flawless rhythm and prose, and the intellectuals among them immediately realized that  what they were hearing could not have been composed by a human being. Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) revealed a verse of the Qur’an challenging mankind and Jinnkind to join together and produce such as the Qur’an, but they will forever be unable to produce its similar.

The miracle of Qur’anic Arabic is only one of the Qur’an’s several everlasting miracles brought by an un-lettered man who did’n know how to write nor read. So we ask, how can an un-lettered man produce such a Book of Guidance, Wisdom, Science, History, Previous Knowledge and Future Knowledge unknown to us. Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) said;

        Say: “If the mankind and the jinn were together to produce the like of this Qur’ân, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another.” Al-Qur’an 17:88

إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

“Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’ân in order that you may understand.” Al-Qur’an 12:2
